oh wow, so my last blog i outlined my busy July . . . everything went pretty well except my FINGERPRINTING!!!! That didn’t go well at all. So when I first applied for this Adjustment Of Status for permanent residency, I hired a lawyer to help because I didnt want to deal with all the forms and applications and shit - and let me tell you, it isn’t cheap - and according to her "professional" experience, it was okay to include Joanna in my application even though I didn’t have any ID that had the name Joanna on it. I wanted to add Joanna as my first name cuz that’s how everybody knows me - and I was debating as to whether I should wait till all the things go through with my adjustment of status or should I just do it now with my application and have it all settled with my green card - and so my lawyer said "sure sure" and YEAH RIGHT!! When I got to the fingerprint place, they didn’t let me do my fingerprint because my ID doesn’t match the name so they said that there could be another Joanna out there - so now I am stuck in the middle. I called my lawyer and she was out until the following week so I had to wait until she gets back to tell me what I need to do now. I called her last week when she was back and all she said was "Those people don’t know the laws" - and now she wrote a letter to immigration asking if they can just send out the notices with my real name and forget about the name Joanna - I am still waiting for that to come back but GOD knows how long it will take before the government replies your letters.
Work is still busy as hell - *sigh* - but hopefully things will get better soon - at least my buddy is coming back next monday from her 3 month maternity leave.
As of saturday, Aug 6th, I have been happily married for 3 months!!! hehe . . . love you sweetie.
